About this cigar

Our darkest cigar derives its naturally deep colour from its celebrated wrapper leaf, grown in Mexico's San Andres Valley. The name "Maduro", meaning "ripe" or "mature" in Spanish, reflects the rich, dark tones of these carefully aged and expertly fermented leaves, reminiscent of the finest dark chocolate.

This rich blend features a Nicaraguan binder and fillers, creating a complex profile filled with notes of cocoa, dark chocolate, and a hint of earthiness.

The well-aged tobaccos offer a robust yet sophisticated experience, just above the medium strength mark - bold in character, yet unexpectedly inviting to both the seasoned experienced smoker and the curious novice.

Discover a new classic - a mature blend over 160 years in the making. Cheers!

Questions we get asked

Provenance, packing and storage, answered plainly.

Is this genuine, and where does it come from?

Yes. We buy Charatan from the authorised UK distributor, so it arrives with duty and VAT paid and nothing in between.

How will it be packed?

It goes out in a sealed pouch with a free Boveda 69% humidity pack, which holds the cigars at roughly 65 to 70% humidity while they are in transit. We ship Royal Mail Tracked 24, or Special Delivery if you would rather.

How should I store it once it arrives?

Keep it in a humidor or an airtight box with a 65% or 69% Boveda pack, somewhere around 18 to 20°C. British houses get very dry in winter once the heating goes on, so a sealed container makes a real difference.
